The teachers at Maplewood are very attentive to my child's needs. They are very focused to the well being of all the children. I feel my daughter has been well prepared for kindergarten.
Just as when it was established in 1964, Maplewood Preschool continues today to provide a state licensed preschool program focused on the education of young children in the community. We realize that children progress at different rates and learn through various methods, so we believe that they should have the freedom and opportunity to develop their physical, mental, and social capabilities with a feeling of success in a structured atmosphere.
- To enhance the child’s self-image, to stimulate intellectual growth and to expand the child’s knowledge of the world.
- To help the child relate to other children and adults.
- To provide opportunities for gross and fine motor development.
- To help the child relate to their own emotions.
- To express ideas and feelings through a variety of methods and materials.
- To help the child use language to communicate effectively.
- To help the child develop good listening skills and learn how to follow directions.
- To provide patient and affectionate teachers who understand child development and respond to the individual needs of children.

An advance notice is appreciated when a child is to be withdrawn from preschool. A MAXIMUM REFUND of one week’s tuition will be granted ONLY when notification of withdrawal is made during the first week of the four week tuition period.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Safety is a big concern when children are moving about in the parking lot. Please escort your child into the educational wing of the building, and wait for teachers to call them to their room.
When picking up your child, feel free to wait in the hallway by the classrooms doors. When teachers dismiss their session, you can pick up your child from their classroom and continue to exit by the south door.
Children with any of the following conditions should be kept home until the condition has been gone for at least 24 hours:
fever, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, and red or mattering eye.
You are welcome to visit at any time. Advance notice is appreciated. Please schedule visits with the Director and or your child's teacher.
Children will receive a snack each day. Parents are welcome to sign up to bring snacks for their child's class with the Director or child's teacher.
The child will bring home a "Partner Pouch" folder each day in their backpack. Please check daily for information from the teacher. The Partner Pouch is also a way for you to share information with your child's teacher.
Parent newsletters will be sent home each month with your child.
Please check the Maplewood website maplewoodpreschool.com and or Facebook for updates on events and happenings.
Progress notes are sent home in November and April.
Parent/ Teacher Conferences are held in November for all classes.
