Our Policies
School Hours and Days
Morning Sessions: 8:30 – 11:00
Afternoon Sessions: 12:00 – 2:30
The School year starts the last week in August and ends the 3rd week in May.
School Cancellations
Maplewood Preschool generally follows the Omaha Public School district’s decisions regarding cancellation due to inclement weather.
Illness
Children with any of the following conditions should be kept home until the condition has been gone for at least 24 hours: fever, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, and red or matting eye.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Please escort your child to his/her classroom door.
Teachers will dismiss students from their classroom.
Tuition
Tuition is due the first week of each month. Tuition must be paid to hold a child’s place in preschool, even if the child is absent from school due to illness, vacation, holidays, or school cancellation due to weather conditions. An advanced notice is appreciated when a child is to be withdrawn from preschool. A MAXIMUM REFUND of one week’s tuition will be granted ONLY when notification of withdrawal is made during the first week of the four week tuition period. Discounts available for yearly prepayment and second child. Contact the Director for details.
Snacks
Children will receive a snack each day. We are a peanut free school. Parents are welcome to sign up to bring snacks for their child’s class with the Director or their child’s teacher.
Visitors
You are welcome to visit at any time. Advanced notice is appreciated. Please schedule visits with the Director and/or your child’s teacher.
Communication
Each student will have a take home folder in their backpack each day. Please check daily for information from the teacher.
Parent newsletters will be sent home monthly with your child. They are also available on our website.

Progress notes are sent home in November and April.
Parent teacher conferences are held in November for all classes. Parent teacher conferences in April are optional.
Parents are free to call anytime with a question or concern.
